How Expensive is an album?

Here’s the breakdown for what the album will cost. These are approximations and estimates:

  • Studio time- $3500 (7 days at $500/day)
  • Album mixing- $1200
  • Musicians (both The Late Greats and outside musicians)- $2000
  • Production and equipment prep.- $2000
  • Miscellaneous other costs- $1000
For those of you keeping track at home, that’s close to $10K and that’s before mastering (putting the last bit of sonic polish on the record) and printing/reproduction. We hope to keep you as updated as possible to changes but this is just to give you an idea as to how ridiculously expensive modern day recording is.
